As the Custodian of Parihoa, I have long envisioned it morphing from a farm into a wellbeing company. I have watched and experienced the incredible energy of my friends and loved ones, who have enjoyed the wellbeing that this incredible land affords. Extrapolating that beyond the land, Parihoa is evolving into a company that supports and nurtures well human beings, where people are at the heart of everything we do. Parihoa means 'the friendly cliffs', and our purpose is to create a friendly network of good energy, comprising friends and alumni who share our vision and experience of wellbeing.
As I have transitioned from a previous life of global entrepreneurism and burnout, I have been constantly working on my own wellbeing to become a well leader. This is a continuous process, but I am committed to helping other leaders who, like myself, have experienced a major inflection point in their lives, to transform and become a new version of themselves. Parihoa is the place where I experienced my inflection; the land has grounded me and thousands of people who have experienced its special energy.
We are evolving Parihoa from a place into a new-age concept that extends from New Zealand to the world. My hope is that this will become a super network, connecting people worldwide who recognise the power of wellbeing and will become well-leaders. This is a multi-generational collective relevant to all who choose to follow.
I believe that well leaders of the future will create incredible concepts with wellbeing at their core. The companies these people lead will have Chief Wellbeing Officers who work closely with the founders to ensure that wellbeing is central to everything they do and drives their success. As a result, wellbeing specialist teams will form, and well cultures will emerge. These companies will excel in all aspects, from products and customer service to performance and sustainability.
The next generation of talent will be drawn to these companies, seeking to work in environments that prioritise wellbeing. The Parihoa network will not seek to be prolific on social media or in the public eye. Its beauty lies in its focus on the whole human approach, considering each person's entire self, not just their job title. The work of the network will take place privately, as we believe that connected values and alignment of vision can be created through human connection rather than through likes and shares.
I am excited to see how far this concept can run and to create a network that fosters wellbeing for all.
