In developing his concept for The Network, Matt has drawn upon learnings from his global search company, ChapmanCG, which established a network of over 150,000 HR leaders. This experience provided Matt with a keen understanding of the power of connection and the significance of wellbeing in enabling individuals to realise their full potential and lead fulfilling, meaningful lives as whole humans.
The Covid pandemic and subsequent shifts in the way people work, as well as the escalating issue of burnout, have underscored the importance of wellbeing more than ever. The way we work must evolve; we require a new generation of leaders who prioritise wellbeing. Consequently, the objective of the Parihoa Network is to connect individuals from around the world who are eager to explore the role of wellbeing in their lives and its implications for them as individuals and as leaders. This will be achieved through collaborating with a diverse range of expert coaches and thinkers from various wellbeing modalities.
Small groups of individuals, both from Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally, will participate in a series of 'in-residence' programmes at Parihoa. As it has been for Matt and his friends, the aim is for visitors to experience Parihoa as a sanctuary for peace, reflection, regeneration, and ultimately, transformation. By attracting and cultivating relationships with the right individuals and wellbeing leaders, Parihoa will become a hub for the development of groundbreaking wellbeing concepts and innovative practices. These advancements may have significant implications, potentially influencing individuals and organisations on a global scale.
More from our Founder...
My dream is to create a friendly network of good energy that reflects the experience of being on the land at Parihoa, a name that means "the friendly cliffs."
As we embark on this journey, Parihoa is evolving from a place into a concept. This network will extend beyond Aotearoa New Zealand. It is a new-age concept that is emerging from New Zealand to the world. Its beauty lies in its focus on a whole human approach, considering each person's entire self, not just their job title, productivity, or performance.
The value of the Network will be determined by the type of people who are part of it and the energy and intention they bring to it. Therefore, as we move from dreaming and planning into actually building the network, we are being intentional about who becomes part of our community. The priority is on finding people who share our values and vision, and who are excited about the idea of connecting with others to share ideas, stories, and energy. It has nothing to do with net worth, job title, or status, and everything to do with intention and a shared value system. Many of the people who will be interested in our work seem likely to have either experienced or be approaching an inflection point in their lives, necessitating decisions about which path to follow.
We want to cultivate a collective of individuals from around the world, where each person is known through their connections within this central network. I envision a day when this network could evolve into its own platform, potentially reaching a million people. But for now, we are starting from the ground up, from a community of friends and friends of friends, to a wider group of people whom we don’t yet know but who share our vision.
If this resonates with you, I invite you to join us on this journey. See you at Parihoa!
